OUR DIRECTION

Moemoeā | Vision

Nā te ringa tangata i hanga te whare
Nā te tuarā o te whare i whakatipu i te tangata
We who build the house are built by the house

HOW WE WILL GET THERE

Whakatakanga | Misson

SHARING Māoritanga through manaakitanga.
PRACTICING kaitiakitanga over our taonga, tangata and whenua.
WEAVING the values of our past into our people as we navigate the way forward.

WHANAUNGATANGA

We value our relationships with whānau, hapū, iwi, and hapori and with those who share our vision. We express whakaute and ngākau pono, respect and integrity and aroha ki te tangata through Manaakitanga, which embodies hospitality and generosity.

TŪRANGAWAEWAE

Tapu Te Ranga Marae provides a person with a right to stand by way of whakapapa (genealogy) or whanaungatanga (relationship). Many like-minded people and movements have made a stand at the Marae on important issues affecting Māori since the 1970’s.

KAITIAKITANGA

As Māori we have an inherent duty to uphold the guardianship of our taonga – our tangata (people), whenua (land) and taiao (environment). We practice kaitiakitanga through sustainable living, making informed and environmentally friendly decisions. We will be guided by and share kaupapa Māori, which includes Māoritanga, tikanga (cultural practices) and whakaaro (philosophy).

RANGATIRATANGA

To weave the values of our past into our people as we navigate the way forward. We will lead with mana and empower our people to reach their full potential.
